Although I don't get to watch them play as much as I'd like, I'm still a big Viking fan. My husband is a native Minnesotan and we lived in Minnetonka from 1975- 84. (I'd met him in southern CA) I'd never watched any NFL games before then and when we arrived the Vikings had started the season with a nice winning streak. The entire state seemed to be totally nuts about them and within a few weeks, I was hooked...line and sinker. Fran Tarkenton was the quarterback and it was his wife's book that taught me how to follow the game, since I was really clueless. Just thinking about that time in my life brings back a lot of fond memories. I loved living in Minnesota 6 months of year but as a native North Carolinian, the winters just got to be too much. Attended my brother's wedding in Myrtle Beach Jan. '84 and my husband decided I'd been right and put our house on the immediately. We've been in Eastern NC since. Being from NC, you'd think I'd have known about NASCAR all my life but I never watched a race until '93. The Sunday I had a chance to see the Vikings and chose to watch a Cup race instead was when I realized how seriously I loved racing. But I still follow the Vikings and can't even bring myself to cheer the Panthers over them, so I guess I'm also a traitor. LOL Sorry, I hadn't intended writing a book. Please say hey to your delightfully irascible Red.
Take care,
Robbin
